The Coordinating Early Childhood Intervention Service has been housed in Aradippou Town Hall since 2003. This program serves families of preschool aged children, under the age of seven years who have a developmental disorder or learning problem. The service is offered to families living in Aradippou, Larnaca and Ammochostos. It is an independent service even though it falls under the umbrella of the Aradippou Advice Centre. The service is offered by the Committee of the Protection of Rights of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour. Due to the fact that it is considered important that the service operates within the community and not in a medical or therapy centre, Aradippou Municipality offered an office in the Town Hall to the Officer working in this service.

The Early Childhood Intervention Officer supports the family psychologically and offers information and guidance with regard to issues relating the child. The Officer also has a coordinating role between the family and other service providers. In this way there is a securing of the necessary monitoring of and support of the child with regard to therapies, evaluations and financial support.  When needed home visits can be made.

The aim of childhood intervention is the continuous development of the child to the maximum possible. Whoever requires help or information from theCoordinating Early Childhood Intervention Service can apply to Aradippou Town Hall on the telephone numbers 24813010/ 99540407.

The Officer for the service is Psychologist Polly Hadjisavva.
